Nautical Sign for a Navy Friend

My craftiest friend was in the market for a wood pallets sign, so I whipped this up for her a while ago. Love!

Flappy Bird

I've never been good at video games. Like, I'm the worst. I can't handle games that have too many buttons or controls, it's too stressful. My husband excels at any and all games he plays. When we got the Kinect Dance Central game, I finally saw my chance to beat him at something. He CANnot dance. So you can imagine my surprise when he beat everyone in the room. Anyway, this isn't about him. It's about this:

If you don't know, Flappy Bird is the most frustrating, agonizing, want-to-throw-your-phone-at-the-wall game of all time. When I started playing it, I couldn't get past level 7 for days. Then I almost cried when I got to level 75. So when I got 183...it's probably the greatest achievement of my life. And if you think that's sad, well you're probably right.

Mini Wreaths..for the rest of the year.

A few months ago I did a post on Mini Wreaths for Every Season. I had some cute Thanksgiving and Christmas wreaths, and I finally got around to making my "year-round" mini wreath. Since nautical is (mostly) my theme, here is my super cute new wreath:

I am embarrassed at how long it took me to get the ribbon colors evenly spaced apart.

DIY Ships Wheel on Pallets

I made a ships wheel! Well, I painted a ships wheel. It was pretty easy to make, I used a printable because I didn't trust my symmetry skills to draw it myself. It looks super cute in my nautical corner. I hate the awkward side table in the corner, but I have nowhere else to put it. My husband told me I was at my "decorative wood things" limit for the living room. Lucky for him, I agree. So next up: bedroom remodel!

DIY Kitchen iPad Stand

An iPad stand. You know you need one. Sure, my awesome green protective cover acts as a stand, but only in landscape mode! Totes unacceptable. If you're my husband you wonder how many random things I can make out of wood sticks. If you're me, you wonder how many more things you can make out of wood sticks! Anyway, this keeps your iPad upright and easy to read when cooking dinner for said husband who really needs to stop complaining about your genius projects.

Decorative tray DIY

Another pallets project, yay! This awesome tray matches the crate in my living room. I'm thinking of repainting them but haven't committed to a color yet. I'm thinking of adding a new accent color to my living room, which as we all know is a huge decision so I'm taking my time and will update as soon as a decision has been made.

Here's the crate I made a while ago, the color is the same even though the tray looks brighter for some reason:

Here's a picture of them both in my living room.

Note: my fireplace isn't actually crooked, it turns out taking panoramic pictures is not as easy as it seems.

DIY Bookcase

I made a bookcase. Barney helped. I love the burlap backing so much! I used foam board from the dollar store as the backing, and wrapped burlap over it. I loved the burlap so much, I backed my existing bookcase with it as well!

Are we playing fetch with these?

Old bookcase, new backing!
